Piscataquis Valley Adult Education Cooperative seeks an organized, flexible, compassionate, and dedicated academic instructor. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, a collaborative work ethic, and experience managing multiple modalities of instruction including, in-person, hybrid, and virtual instruction.
The candidate should enjoy working with small groups of adult learners as they work toward their high school diplomas, prepare to take the HiSET examinations, complete college transition courses, or participate in workforce readiness training. Minimal travel will be required to instruct from our learning centers in Dover Foxcroft, Dexter, Milo, Guilford, and the Piscataquic County Jail. Instructors are reimbursed for required travel.
Being proficient in technology is required. PVAEC utilizes Google Suite, the Edmentum (Plato) and Essential Education learning platforms, educational assessments such as the Comprehensive Adult Student Assessment Systems (CASAS), and data management systems such as MaineStars and Schoology. Training for specific technology programs will be provided. A valid Maine teacher certification or be eligible for a conditional adult education or grade 7-12 certification is required.
This instructor position is a full-time year-round position with competitive wages and benefits.
