The first step in enrolling in any of our academic programs is setting up an appointment with PVAEC Assistant Director, Eve Salley. At your intake appointment with Eve, she will go over our program requirements with you, help you choose which of our programs best fits your needs, and prepare you for your next steps. You will also be given our state mandated placement testing, which is called CASAS. While a certain CASAS score isn’t required for entrance into our program, it is important to do your best because it helps us determine your strengths and weaknesses. You will then move on to your next step in your academic goals.
COVID-19 Considerations (updated 3-16-2021): Our Academic Learning Centers in Dexter (Dexter Learning Center), Dover (Penquis Higher Education Center) and Milo (MSAD 41 Transportation Building) are now open by appointment for one-on-one meetings with your instructor. Students are expected to wear appropriate face coverings at all times when inside our facilities and on the grounds of PHEC. Upon arrival, the front door at PHEC (Dover) and the classroom door at DLC (Dexter) will be locked. Please arrive promptly at your designated appointment time (as we will be expecting you) and knock on the door in Dexter, or ring the doorbell in Dover. A PVAEC staff person will come out and ask you a series of health/wellness screening questions upon entry. If you are not feeling well on the day of your appointment, we ask that you please stay home and reschedule when you are feeling better. We are still offering remote/distance and pickup/drop off options for all academic students in Dexter, Dover, Guilford and Milo. Guilford and Milo students are also welcome to schedule in-person appointments in Dover or Dexter.
