Do You Want to Teach an Adult Ed Course?

We are now accepting course proposals for Spring/Summer 2021!

As you may know, we delayed the start of our Spring 2021 Enrichment Program until “later in the spring”. Now, the time has finally come to start planning! Over the past few weeks, we reached out to instructors and students regarding online/Zoom VS in-person classes. A majority of students indicated that they might be willing to try online learning, but they overwhelmingly preferred in-person classes. Other important factors we considered were the prolonged effects of social isolation, and a lack of reliable internet/technology among our students and in our region. At this time, it looks as though COVID-19 cases are decreasing, and we are confident and hopeful that things will continue to get better in the spring, so we intend to forge ahead with in-person classes.  However, if you would prefer to teach via Zoom, we are happy to give it a try, just let us know!

Last fall, we purchased picnic tables for outdoor classes (weather permitting), and room dividers (to help cut back on the poor acoustics) for the gym. We will still require masks and physical distancing for as long as the CDC recommends doing so. And, as always, the health and safety of our staff, students and community is our top priority, so in-person classes are subject to cancellation.

Please schedule your classes to start no earlier than Monday, April 26 and end no later than Friday, July 16. That’s right, this spring, we are offering classes into the summer months! You can schedule your 1, 2, 4, 6, or 8 week class to start anytime within those dates; you don’t have to start in April. Daytime classes can be scheduled Monday-Thursday at PHEC in Dover and Thursday & Friday afternoons in Dexter, and evening classes can be scheduled Monday-Thursday in Dover and Tuesday & Thursday in Dexter. Our districts are not allowing any use of buildings that are not directly school related, so we do not have space in Guilford or Milo at this time. We are in the process of looking for space in Milo, so please let us know if you are interested in teaching there.

Even though classes don’t start until April 26, course proposals are due by Tuesday, March 2, 2021. This is to allow ample time for brochure delivery via USPS (USPS IS EXPERIENCING UNPRECEDENTED VOLUME INCREASES AND LIMITED EMPLOYEE AVAILABILITY DUE TO THE IMPACTS OF COVID-19).
