PVAEC announces new online course - Introduction to Google Analytics

Nearly every business and non-profit organization has a website, and probably a Facebook page and a YouTube channel. Individuals have them too, to promote ideas, to share a vision, or to educate the public. No matter what brings you to the Web, your hope is that a lot of people see your website, your wall, your tweets, and your videos. Why else go to the trouble of sharing them?

In our new online course, Introduction to Google Analytics, you'll learn  how you can track not just the traffic to all of your online content, but also determine which content is the most appealing, where your visitors came from, what devices they used, how long they stayed, which links they clicked, and where they went when they left.

This is a 6 week 24 hour online course.  Choose one of the following start dates:
6/19, 7/17, 8/21, 9/18, 10/16, 11/13, 12/11. $99.

How costly is the decision to drop out of school?

How costly is the decision to drop out of school?

Consider a few figures about life without a diploma:

The average dropout can expect to earn an annual income of $20,241, according to the U.S. Census Bureau (PDF). That’s a full $10,386 less than the typical high school graduate, and $36,424 less than someone with a bachelor’s degree.

Of course, simply finding a job is also much more of a challenge for dropouts. While the national unemployment rate stood at 8.1 percent in August, joblessness among those without a high school degree measured 12 percent. Among college graduates, it was 4.1 percent.

The challenges hardly end there, particularly among young dropouts. Among those between the ages of 18 and 24, dropouts were more than twice as likely as college graduates to live in poverty according to the Department of Education. Dropouts experienced a poverty rate of 30.8 percent, while those with at least a bachelor’s degree had a poverty rate of 13.5 percent.

The ASVAB career exploration test is not just for students interested in military.

The ASVAB   (Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery) encourages students to explore a wide variety of careers in line with their interests and skills. While the program is sponsored by the U.S. Department of Defense, this career exploration tool is for every student, 10th grade and up (ages 16 to 23), not just those interested in the armed forces.  There has never been a requirement that a test-taker with a qualifying score enlist in the military, and the test may simply determine personal aptitude at a particular career.
PVAEC offers an ASVAB Test Prep course which will help prepare you for this important test.  Call 564-6525 for more information.
