PVAEC holds Pinning Ceremony October 15, 2014

 PVAEC held a CNA Pinning Ceremony to our most recent class of CNA graduates on October 15, 2014 at our offices in Dover-Foxcroft.

PVAEC and TCTC are offering a 10 week course to prepare you for written and road tests for your CDL-B. The classes will be held at PVAEC Learning Center in Dexter. Class will meet for 10 Saturdays from 8am to 5pm, starting December 6, 2014 and ending February 7, 2015.

Classes will include desk work and behind the wheel training.

There will be a pre-employment/pre-start drug test, and a DOT physical. The costs for these tests are included in the tuition of $2,800.00.

PHEC/PVAEC Open House: Tuesday August 19thBarbeque

Come learn about all the educational opportunities available through Eastern Maine Community College and Piscataquis Valley Adult Education at the Penquis Higher Education Center Open House, located in Dover-Foxcroft. EMCC will be cooking up a tasty barbeque, offering tours of the facility, and information about upcoming classes from EMCC and Adult Ed.

The Penquis Higher Education Center offers interactive television, online, and onsite courses. Personalized resources such as financial aid advising, registration, academic and career counseling, testing, and a library and computer facility are available for use.  Call 564-6525 for more information.

PVAEC 2014 Graduation Ceremony

PVAEC held its 2014 Graduation Ceremony last night, June 11, 2014, at Center Theatre in Dover-Foxcroft.  The theatre was filled to capacity as our Director, Thelma Regan, welcomed graduates, friends and family to the ceremony.  The keynote speaker was Robert Haley, Director of Maine State Approving Agency for Veterans Education.  He gave a rousing speech on the opportunities now available to our graduates.  The musical interlude was provided by Jason Curran and Peter Ippoliti, and was enjoyed by all.

PVAEC is at new location in Dover Foxcroft

PVAEC has moved its office and learning center in Dover Foxcroft.  We are now located at 50 Mayo Street in Dover Foxcroft.  This is the 'old' Mayo Street School, which is the Penquis Higher Education Center (PHEC). Our phone numbers and email address remain the same.

Our office and the learning centers are now open for business.  Stop by and visit!

PVAEC Spring 14 Brochure is available!

Brochure CoverSpring is near, and PVAEC has opened registration for our Spring 14 semester.  The brochure is in the mail to you, but you can download the PDF of the brochure while you are waiting, and the links will take you right to the registration page on our website.  

There is something for everyone this semester, from snowshoeing to maple syrup to the Boston Flower Show.  Learn AutoCAD this semester, track wildlife, study the history of Piscataquis County, or start spinning wool.  We're offering Reiki, nutrition therapy, quilting and painting, pottery, cross-stitch and knitting.  Plenty of choices to keep us all busy learning and growing.
